British media has reported that an infant died during a transatlantic flight this week. According to reports, the mother may have accidentally suffocated the child while she was sleeping and at the same time doing the baby nursing.
As of now, United Airlines have yet to confirm if a baby indeed died during one of their transatlantic flights. It did confirm that a flight from Washington, D.C. to Kuwait was diverted to Heathrow Airport in London due to an alleged ill passenger.
British media reported that an Egyptian mother was nursing her four week old infant but dozed off in the process. When she woke up, she discovered that the baby was no longer breathing.
Despite this scenario, medical experts said that baby nursing should still be practiced using a maternity bra because it is a safe process. It’s just one of those incidents that may triggered the accident.
