The branches of First County Bank located in lower Fairfield County is reportedly taking part in The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation’s annual donation drive. The banks will serve as drop points of new baby toys and other products which in turn will be given to those in need in the United States. According to latest statistics, there are more than 14 million children living in poverty in the country and the numbers are likely to increase considering that the global financial crisis has not yet ended.
First County Vice President and Direct of Marketing Karen Kelly said that this undertaking is a very special cause for them especially at this time of the year because they want to help the economically disadvantaged children and make them enjoy the holiday season for a change.
The fifteen branches of First County Bank in Fairfield County will continue accepting items until December 21, 2009.
