This week, the Korean Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released an advisory to the public regarding the effects made by depilatory sprays and creams that promises hair removal. This is highly popular during the summer season since people from all ages, including pregnant women, would like to get rid of unsightly hair in order to sport on bikinis or trunks.

The beauty-conscious population is said to be not familiar with the possible side effects provided by these products when misused.
Medical experts stated in the advisory that people, especially pregnant women who want to wear bikini, should avoid sunbathing for a minimum of one day after applying these creams and sprays on the body. The ingredients in these products are reportedly sensitive to sunlight. Also applying perfume or deodorant on the skin applied with these creams could cause sores and other skin irritations.
The safest advice, especially for pregnant women or nursing mothers, is not to use these depilatory creams as much as possible because it could affect the hormones in the process. Another best way to prevent such occurrences is to approach a reliable doctor for medical advice.
