The symptoms of pregnancy are divided into different categories. These categories are presumptive, probable and positive. Most women experience the presumptive symptoms first. These pregnancy symptoms are also referred to as Early Signs of Pregnancy. Presumptive pregnancy symptoms are as follows.

Missed Periods – A missed period is one of the earliest symptoms of pregnancy. This occurs because there is no need to shed the uterine lining (this causes menstruation) since an embryo has already been implanted. For women who have irregular menses – missed periods are hardly a reliable sign of pregnancy.
Morning Sickness – Moring sickness or frequent bouts of nausea and vomiting in the mornings or throughout the day are presumptive symptoms of pregnancy. Morning sickness is caused by an increase in certain hormones. Some women never experience this pregnancy symptom. Nausea and vomiting is also a sign of infection, so this may not be reliable sign of pregnancy. This site gives some advice as how to avoid the sickness.
Food Aversions and Cravings – This is a classic early symptom of pregnancy. Hormonal changes in a woman’s body make her crave for certain food items. Inversely, it also causes food aversion. Women also crave food items that help ease the nausea and vomiting.
Frequent Urination – Frequent urination in the early stages of pregnancy is caused by hormonal changes. In later stages, the fetus exerting pressure on the bladder causes frequent urination.
Body changes - many women notice their bust changing size and usually grow bigger. It’s therefore advisable to go into a lingerie store and get a bra fitting as your boobs still need all the support they can get.
